Oh, I forgot to mention something earlier. Ours was not a convertible is like your. Shift does this car have an automatic transmission or stick? Just curious. It does sound nice and drive.

We had a white 1962 Pontiac Tempest 2-door sedan while living in Florida from 1969 to ’71 when I was a little boy. My dad was in the Air Force and got it some time after we got there. I kind of miss that little car even though I was a little squirt then! This video brings back some good memories for me!

From the looks of the front grille and hood, I believe you have a 1961 Tempest, not a ’62. In fact I still have the owners manual from the one I drove. The 1962 has similar but definitely redesigned front end. It won “The Car of the Year” award for it’s innovations. It’s engine is the Pontiac 389 V8 sliced ??right down the middle. It’s displacement is 194th CI 5 (194 5 x 2 = 389!), With the slanted orientation.

@ Bigcrowfly Maybe a year early or late model. . . or rear it looks like the hood and grill are interchangeable maybe it was changed out?

  11. CerealMarshmallows Says:

@ Bigcrowfly Oh i did all that. Its a 62 i think maybe they were a year or split the webbing gets the lemans tempest and the other gets the i dont know,,,, All i know is Title says 62nd . . Vin says 62nd . . . and they did not make a convertible in 1961. . . So It is a 1962nd Not trying to argue or page be right but we are “having this out” on my marketing so i have to correctly describe what i have and i appreciate all your input You are right there is some odd differance. . ;-)
